“They fought cancer and won. Then they fought for nine long years to bring a child into the world, and they won again when their son Ari was born,” Nunu says about Yonatan and Moran Deutsch, the couple who inspired her song “Daddy, Come.” “But on October 7, everything changed. Yonatan fought bravely with his team and fell in battle. At his funeral, Moran said: We were a couple that always won, but this time we lost.”
In this episode of Song of Hope, Nunu returns to the words engraved in her heart during the war. She performs a tender and emotional version of Meir Banai’s “Rain,” longing for the rain to wash away fear and bring a moment of comfort and healing.
