The Dead of Jaffa
In this feature film, three children from the West Bank are smuggled into Israel after their mother’s death and their father’s life imprisonment. They find refuge in the home of George and Rita, an Israeli-Palestinian couple in Jaffa. George fears the risk of hiding “illegal” children, while Rita feels their presence gives new meaning to her life. Meanwhile, nearby, a British director shoots a film about his parents’ love story in 1947 Palestine. As these stories intertwine, a great storm approaches, threatening to upend them all.
