After becoming the sole heir of a 700-year-old dynasty of Christian tattoo artists from the Old City of Jerusalem who has tattooed pilgrims for hundreds of years with ancient olive wood stencils, Wassim Razzouk discovers an old book that implies that not all the stencils belonging to his family were passed down to him. Wassim then starts on a quest to find them and get back as many as he can. His search reveals a dramatic and passionate story that caused a major rift in his family decades ago, with stories of deceptions, thefts and even an unsolved murder. At the end of the quest, which takes almost three years, Wassim comes to understand what are the truly important things in life.
